Isaiah 30: 1-3;9-11;12-13;15;18

‘Woe to the rebellious children,’ declares the Lord, ‘who carry out a plan but not Mine, and take couple and advice but not from ME, and make a league of alliance (for protection), but not initiated by My Spirit, (in order) that they may add sin to sin.

Who proceed down to Egypt without consulting Me, (in order) to take refuge in the safety of pharaoh and to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt! Therefore the safety of pharaoh will be your shame and the shelter in the shadow of Egypt, your humiliation .

The Israelites are not trusting God (which is sin). They are not trusting God to provide their protection, nor accepting God’s will that He will work all things together for their benefit, thus allowing themselves to be manipulated by fear, they take matters into their own hands to solve their problem using their own methods in order to avoid discomfort, instead of in the presence of fear, seeking the Lord.

In this situation, there is also the element of another sin. sin separates from God and ushers in both spiritual and physical consequence; GOd's protection is lessened and subconscious awareness of this causes insecurity that is fear.

When sin goes unacknowledged, it's practice and/or presence is allowed to remain, which is like allowing cancer cells to remain.

Rather than repenting and ceasing to sin, and removing the sin from one's life, and seeking God, God is avoided, and like the Israelites above, we come up with our own solution in order to continue the sin (and/or keep one's pride in tact; arrogance), thus adding to sin to sin; but also in this case above, God had already previously warned and made it blatantly known in HIs statutes not to make alliances with those who do not have reverence for Him. Here Israel, in their fear, is doing just that. adding sin to sin and the delustion and destruction which come along with that.

‘For this is a rebellious people, deceitful children, children who refuse to listen to the instruction of the Lord; who say to the seers, ‘you must not see visions from GOd’ and to the prophets of GOd, ‘you must not prophesy to us what is right! Speak to us pleasant things and smooth words, prophesy (deceitful) illusions that we will enjoy. Get out of the way, turn aside from the path of God; stop bothering us about the Holy One of Israel.’

Therefore the Holy One of Israel says this, ‘because you have refused and rejected this word and have put your trust in oppression and deviation, and have relied on them, therefore this guilt will be to you like a broken wall about to fall; a bulge in a high wall whose collapse comes suddenly in an instant. '

'For the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel has said, ‘in repentance and rest (a quiet humble attitude), you will be saved. In quietness and trust is your strength.’ But you were not willing.'

'The Lord longs to be gracious to you and therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; how blessed are those who long for Him!'

What must we do?

Verse 15: Repent.

(Acknowledge it) with a sincere and humble and quiet heart/attitude, acknowledge it for what it is; sin against God, confess and do away with whatever it is that otherwise allows it to be present in your life and if there is fear, go to God with your fear, tell Him of it and ask Him for help, guidance and trust Him, to impart to you what you need to know and do; and that

'all things work together for the good/benefit of those who love the Lord..' (Romans 8:28),

and make/purpose/schedule time to spend with Him in HIs Word, daily in order to grow in and become rooted in Him, so that your confidence is always in the Lord and fear has no place in your life.
